The AVISTA Intelligent Transportation solution are easy to use, easy deployed, resource and cost efficient. Once deployed, the system can provide users with continuous real-time automated monitoring and access to historical data (video, incident alert , flow, tracking, behavior) on a 24X7 basis including:
- Gathering real-time traffic planning data for intersection improvements
- Evaluating pedestrian safety improvements after construction has been implemented
- Detecting pedestrian traffic patterns during construction activities that block sidewalk
- Detecting vehicle behavior (failing to yield to pedestrians, speeding, making illegal turns)
- Tracking pedestrians behavior
In addition to utilizing our sensors for data collection and traffic planning purposes, DOT’s can also use the same sensor as part of a traffic calming, signalized intersection implementation, or automated traffic enforcement applications. Our sensors can be integration with traffic signal controllers, warning indicators, PCMS and other traffic devices to:
- Determine and track pedestrian and/or bicyclist in intersection and communicate with traffic light and/or warning indicator to provide additional time so that pedestrian can safely cross the intersection.
- Determine and track pedestrian crossing a “double intersection” and coordinate with traffic signal and/or warning indicators across two or more intersections – situational awareness across multiple intersections
- Communicate in-real-time with mid-street warning device to provide specific early warning alert messages to vehicle (i.e., reduce speed pedestrian in crosswalk, red light ahead,
- Communicate with PCMS to display appropriate incident, congestion, warning messages based on real-time sensor data during normal situations, during special events, construction activities, and emergency situations.
